Profile

Jeanine Zalduendo’s diverse practice focuses on high-stakes, complex commercial litigation in state and federal courts across the country, litigating cases through trial and appeal.  Jeanine has experience representing plaintiffs and defendants in tort, breach of contract, securities fraud, common law fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, antitrust cases, palimony, and intellectual property disputes.  In particular, Jeanine has considerable expertise defending defamation and related torts, successfully defeating such claims against several high-profile clients, including Elon Musk in a groundbreaking defamation case arising out of statements on Twitter.  Jeanine was a key part of the trial team that obtained a complete jury verdict in Mr. Musk’s favor and avoided plaintiff’s claim for $190 million in alleged damages and has gone on to successfully represent Mr. Musk in numerous other First Amendment matters.  Jeanine has also obtained complete defense judgments for a notorious entertainer sued for defamation in multiple states.

Jeanine’s other high-profile experience includes defending SoftBank Vision Fund in litigation brought by The We Company and Adam Neumann arising from the termination of a $3 billion tender offer, obtaining dismissal with prejudice of breach of fiduciary duty claims on motions to dismiss, and settlement on the eve of trial.  Jeanine has also successfully represented plaintiffs in actions against banks, including Bank of America, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, and UBS, alleging misrepresentations in the sale of residential mortgage-backed securities. And Jeanine successfully represented a seller of natural gas against claims of market manipulation and obtained a favorable settlement of class action claims. Jeanine’s other representative clients have included Tesla, Qualcomm, and Samsung, among others.

Jeanine has nearly two decades of experience litigating cases at all stages, including taking and defending depositions, leading factual investigations, managing large teams during all stages of discovery, preparing dispositive motions, and going to trial.  Jeanine also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution processes, including arbitration and mediation.

Prior to joining ZFZ Law, Jeanine was Of Counsel at Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan. Jeanine is fluent in Spanish and an active member of the National Association for Minority- and Women-Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF).
